Your First Visit

Taking the first step on your fertility journey can be exciting, but it can also be intimidating and
overwhelming. We’re here to make it as smooth and comfortable as possible because at
Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA), we believe in empowering you with knowledge and
personalized care from day one.

Here’s what you can expect when you visit us for the first time.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

During your initial consultation, your provider will take the time to get to know you and your
unique story. This will include:
• In-Depth History Review: We’ll discuss your medical, surgical, and fertility/GYN history,
along with any medications or supplements you’re currently taking.
• Education on Infertility Factors: Your provider will walk you through common factors
that could be contributing to infertility based on your background.
• Recommended Testing: You’ll get an overview of the standard fertility work-up as well
as any additional testing tailored to your specific needs.
• Treatment Options: Your provider will explain potential treatment paths to help you
understand what’s ahead – which may be IVF or IUI.
We’re here to answer all your questions and guide you every step of the way!

How to Prepare for Your Visit

To make the most of your time with us, please complete the following before your
appointment:

  1. Download the Prelude Connect App
Both you and your partner (if applicable) should download the Prelude Connect app. Complete your registration forms and health history forms in the app to help us get a full picture of your needs.
  2. Submit Prior Records
If you’ve had testing or treatment with another provider, we recommend sending those records and results to RBA ahead of your appointment.

This ensures your provider has all the details needed to personalize your care plan.

What to Bring

When you arrive for your appointment, be sure to have the following:
• A copy of your photo ID or driver’s license
• Your insurance card(s)
• A list of questions for your provider—you won’t want to forget anything!

What Happens After Your First Appointment?

Your journey doesn’t end after your consultation—it’s just beginning. After your visit:
• Patient Care Coordinator Outreach: Your coordinator will contact you via phone or
portal message with a summary of your next steps.
• Complete Fertility Testing: You may need blood work, an ultrasound, or other tests your
provider recommends.
• Follow-Up Consultation: Once your testing checklist is complete, you’ll schedule a
follow-up visit with your physician to review the results and finalize your personalized
treatment plan.
We’ll stay by your side to make the process as seamless and supportive as possible.
