Dr. Monica Best

Reproductive Endocrinologist

Monica W. Best, MD, joined Reproductive Biology Associates in the fall of 2013 after completing her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Best earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Michigan where she graduated with honors and multiple academic awards to her credit. Dr. Best is a native of St. Louis and returned to Missouri for medical school where she was awarded a full academic scholarship to attend the University of Missouri School of Medicine. It was during medical school that Dr. Best became interested in research in reproductive medicine. She was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship where she did research and later published work on the novel rapid non-genomic actions of sex steroids at the University of Pisa in Pisa, Italy.

  • Dr. Best completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. It was also during this time that Dr. Best realized her love of teaching residents and medical students. She was elected and served as the Chief Academic Resident of her residency class. She continues to strive to connect with her patients and serves as a compassionate physician educator while addressing the challenges involved in evaluation and treatment of infertility.

  • Dr. Best went on to receive excellent training in basic reproductive endocrinology, ovulation induction, in vitro fertilization, and minimally invasive surgery during her fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Best has published in peer reviewed journals, authored book chapters, and presented her research nationally. has Atlanta Parent Magazine’s vote for Dr. Best as a “Mom Approved Fertility Specialist” exemplifies the compassion and special connection Dr. Best has with her patients throughout their infertility journey. Dr. Best’s clinical interests encompass all aspects of male and female infertility with specific focus on recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovary syndrome, premature ovarian insufficiency, diminished ovarian reserve, endometriosis, and fertility preservation
